Washington D.C. Fair Employment, Wage Theft Prevention and FMLA & Parental Leave Poster Changes

Washington D.C. are you updated with your posters on the new changes with fair employment, wage theft prevention and FMLA & parental leave poster changes?

This new change has been updated to the Fair Employment poster, due to the fact that a complaint may be filed with the D.C. Office of Human Rights, if anyone feels as if a violation if the Act has been taken place. If a violation of the Act takes place then anyone or organization may file a complaint, with the D.C. Office of Human Rights within 1 year of that violation of the Act. If a violation of the Act is determined, then those damages can be awarded.

The Family and Medical Leave and Parental Leave poster has been updated regarding new information as to who is eligible for leave and as to when employees can take FMLA or parental leave. The poster is also updated with a definition for the family leave under the DCFMLA of an employee as a parent or guardian under the Parental Leave Act.

The Wage Theft Prevention Act poster, ensures employees that acts of an employer who has failed to pay earned wages will be fined and administrative penalties will take place. It also includes new anti-retaliation provisions. The act will also include written notice requirements, which will be provided to the employees.

This change is mandatory, effecting all businesses in Washington D.C. All employers must update their posters. ODER YOUR NEW POSTER HERE
