Fair Employment Poster Updates

Florida and Rhode Island have updated their Fair Employment poster to reflect changes that prohibit discrimination and update rights for pregnant women in the workplace.

Florida, the Fair Employment poster has been updated, so that discrimination on women who are pregnant is prohibited in employment. It is now unlawful for an employer to refuse to hire or discharge an employee, if that individual is pregnant. The poster is also being updated to reflect the Florida Commission on Human Relations.

Effective date is: August 27, 2015

 

Rhode Island, there has been a change in the Fair Employment poster. The poster has been updated for pregnancy rights in the workplace. This new change informs employees of their right, to request a reasonable accommodation for conditions related to pregnancy, childbirth and expressing breast milk. This new poster must be placed in an area accessible to employees.
